    HISTORY

No other shipyard from Augustow region can’t boast itself with such a rich and distant history…

Our boats are going to almost all European countries, even to Australia and they are mainly famous for its outstanding quality. That has been always the priority for Mr. and Mrs. Kozlowski.

Now their son Marek as a Director and daughters in law: Magdalena and Irena support the company and a new generation of grandchildren are growing up to continue family tradition…

    History

No other shipyard from Augustow region can’t boast itself with such a rich and distant history… But let’s start from master Bielawski, father and father in law of Krystyna and Benedykt- present Balt-Yacht owners. In 1930’s master Bielawski, as a teenager, had started in kayaking competitions which end up in fiasco, because his kayak needed construction changes. Since then, nautical upgrades of vessels had become a real passion of Mr. Bronislaw Bielawski. Though he had had no theoretical training, thanks to his hard work, carpenter skills and experience (he was a bosun in Augustów Yachtclub) he explored professional knowledge. Years of war and post-war had suspended his work.

    Since the year 1948

Master could again come back to professional boatbuilding in PTTK workshops by the Necko lake. He enriched old constructions with his own ideas to get them in to the planning. He designed new boats to tow a water skiers, on which was a trend in the 70’s. That was a time when his children shared his passion for water sports, successfully competing in water skiing. Heniek, Janek and Halina took the highest prizes in jumping, slalom and figure skiing.

    Year 1973

It was Mr. Bronislaw Bielawski big success. He spread his wings being employed in a first Augustow shipyard “Foto-Pam”. Sailing yacht of his design with family-sounding name “Necko” and an impressive size of 8 meters as for that time was launched and successfully tested on Augustow-Gdansk waterway. It was the bigger vessel than popular “Omega” or “Cadet” with cabin for 5 people!

    With time

boat designing passion spilled over on his daughter Krystyna an her husband Benedykt Kozlowski. Young and full of enthusiasm they were working in famous “Foto-Pam” shipyard, on the increasingly responsible positions. Benedykt was a Technical Director and a constructor of popular rowing, sailing and motor boats. Krystyna was supervising production and was taking care of proper workmanship being vice head of production.

The second half of the 70’s

began the era of glass-polyester laminate boats. Benedykt Kozlowski with his employees were learning a new technology in famous name of Teliga shipyard in Szczecin. He successfully implemented it to “Foto-Pam” and wooden boats era became the past.

    In 1990

Krystyna and Benedykt Kozlowscy launched BALT-YACHT , the first private shipyard in the region. Years of experience in boatbuilding brought over well-known foreign partners like Jeanneau, Intercontact, X-Yachts, Marine Power currently Brunswick Marine in EMEA Inc., Cormate AS and Goldfishboat AS.
